We are looking for a “Production Manager” to join our fast growing team and business based in Milton Keynes. As a production line manager you are responsible for the planning and management of people, finance and resources within the business to ensure production targets are met on time and at the required quality level without compromising on safety. You will be responsible for driving improvement initiatives and contributing to management decision making. You will have previous experience in fast paced and target drive production environments.
The major tasks involved as a Production Manager:
to recruit and select the right team members
to build team skills through skills assessment, training plan, feedback and support
to ensure daily communication, close relationship and involvement with each team member
to assure product quality through each stage of production
to undertake regular reporting, review and analysis of production data
to manage the availability of people against the plan and work with other departments and managers across the site
to manage three professional assistants (Maintenance Engineer, Planner and Quality)
to identify performance gaps, trends and improvement opportunities and to lead a proper improvement plan
to have a flexible attitude to work, be able to prioritise and perform under pressure in order to meet changing deadlines
to conduct regular monitoring and appraisals. Identifying, evaluating and developing initiatives to ensure skill & competency levels are maintained / improved
to be cost conscious and propose plan to improve profit whilst not compromising on quality or process
Manage your production line budget and explain variances between actual and budget
to take responsibility for health, safety and environment
To be successful you will need to have / possess:
UK Degree or equivalent
Strong people management skills
Experience dealing with recruitment and staff issues as absence, disciplinary, grievance, etc,.
Good communication skills at all level
Analytic in problem solving and determining priorities
Master the IT tools within the job
Annual Discretionary Bonus - depending on Company / Team / Individual performance
20 days holiday + bank holidays (holiday entitlement increases with years of service up to 30)
You are required to work 40 hrs a week and this may involve shift work or on-call duties to deal with out-of-hours problems.
Above and beyond the required skills the individual for this role must have exceptional interpersonal skills, attitude, ability to communicate clearly and to support others in the company at all time is essential.
